Sculpted & Painted Ganesha

Standard

For Ganesh Chathurti in 2015, I sculpted a Ganesha using air dry clay and painted it using ink & acrylic paint. It was a great project and the Ganesha continues to be displayed in our small mantle :)

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!

Standard

IMG_20140828_233905

I wish all of you a very very happy Ganesh Chaturthi :) My mom is currently making appams at home, and my sister has been texting me pictures (Awful!). I can’t wait to go home and celebrate with them!

A few weeks ago, my temple had approached me to paint a few permanent Kolams (South Indian Rangoli like Designs) onto the floor of the temple. I quickly accepted their offer! Not only did it seem like a really fun project, but I also hold this specific temple very close to my heart.

I have many kolams to go, but here are a few I have already started working on. The large one is approximately 5.5 feet x 5.5 feet, and the others are 2.5 x 2.5 feet.

Wedding Signs

Standard

IMG_20140728_224008

I hand painted these signs for my friend’s outdoor farm wedding using Molotow Paint Markers from my art store. Molotow paints are waterproof and weather proof, and though they are a little expensive, they are AWESOME! The wood wasn’t primed, so it did kind of destroy the markers I had used, but it was TOTALLY worth it to see the signs in action! Needless to say, it was one of the most unique and personalized weddings I have ever been to.

Congratulations to my friends D&M on the milestone!
