For as long as i’ve known my husband, he has wanted an Arjuna inspired tattoo but he was never able to pin point the design or style he wanted. As a surprise anniversary present, I designed a tattoo based on everything I knew about him, his style, and his tattoo related ramblings. Design in hand, I took him for his first official Tattoo consultation. Not only was Arjun SUPER surprised, but he loved the design right off the bat! A few weeks and a few tweaks later, and we were back at the tattoo parlour to get inked. It was the most nerve wracking experience to know that there was no going back!
I am so honoured that my husband loved my work enough to put it on his body forever :)
I used black ink and water colours to create elephants, which I displayed in a mantle beside my Taj Mahal. I loved the colourful palette and zentagle inspirations :)
This small 4 x 4″ Krishna with his Peacock was inspired by Madhubani Art, and my experimentation with Zentangle & Henna.
Today is the last day of my 10 day sketchbook series :) I hope you enjoyed it! For the final day, I also used Red Crystals
Happy New Year! It’s been an embarrassingly long time since I have posted on my blog! Last year was definitely a big creative year for me. I had my first official Art job at Paint Nite, I did a record number of painting commissions, got my Graphic Design certification, and designed my webpage http://www.sris-arts.com. 2015 has been a bit slow on the bigger creative projects, mostly because I’ve been working on lots of cute DIY projects for my Wedding!
To kick off some 2015 Creativity, I thought I would post blogs 10 days in a row, with 10 pages out of my sketch book which is still getting filled at a rapid rate. I stuck a few coloured pages into my sketch book to keep things interesting :)
I had a lot of fun with these rush order Diwali Cards! I used ink and acrylic paint to make these 5×7 mini works of art :)
